Rabbit – a good luck charm or a pest with disease?

rabbit repellent

I have noticed that a rabbit has been living around my neighborhood and has been on my lawn since September of last year or so. I have seen the rabbit and even chased it away on several occasions, but it keeps coming back on my property. it is beginning to be annoying even though I have only seen it around 10 times or so. So, is this a sign of good luck (I haven’t seen any) or should I take this rabbit as a pest who could possibly carry and pass around disease on my property plus it could use my property as toilet. I don’t want to kill that wabbit, but what are the best repellent products that work against rabbits? Thanks!

Luckily, I haven’t fed it anything, but it eats some weed and wild flowers that are growing on my property. I’ve got weed problems on my property, but I regularlly mow my lawn once a week especially during spring and summer.

Good Squirrel and rabbit repellent?

rabbit repellent

I just planted new flowers and a small garden in my backyard. Already, squirrels and rabbits are digging in it. What is a good (safe) way to keep them out? I have heard of peppers and moth balls, but is there anything else?

P.S. Please don’t say "shoot them"!

How do I keep rabbits from chewing electrical cords on my garden lights?

rabbit repellent

I have a beautiful fountain that sits in a 3′ open area, cornered by a side walk on one side, the house (brick) on one side, and the backside of the shurbs on the other 2 sides. Bunnies have chewed the cords between the lights. I want to shine the lights up, and onto the fountain at night. The fountain is surrounded by about 2 feet of gravel – up to the shrubs. The solar panel is about 10 feet away and I have it "hidden" off the ground on top of the shrubs where you can’t see it, so it’s okay, but the cords that connect the 3 lights together that are 6-8" off the ground are short. I tried putting plastic tubing around them, but even hiding most of the tubing under the shrubs (the lights are around the area on the backside of the shrubs) isn’t very attractive. The cords themselves are so tiny and can be easily hidden, but the plastic tubing is so obvious & icky.

I’ve heard about human hair, but what about dog hair? I just gave the dog a cut & have tons of it!

I have a sprinkler system, so liquid repellents get washed away Hair on the gravel is going to look gross, and besides, the part they’ve chewed is about 4 inches above the ground. There are too many cords to use moth balls and a fence would look hideous next to the sidewalk.

Suggestions?

Can fly spray for horses be used safely for rabbits?

rabbit repellent

I have a rabbit living in an outdoor hutch, and though he gets his cage cleaned 1-2 times a week, flies & such still seem to like to bug him (no pun intended). He is litter box trained and I try to keep his cage as clean as possible, but so long as there’s a single pellet lying around it seems the flies just don’t relent.

He has developed some minor scabs on his ears that I assume are due to itching/irritation from insects. My question is, would it be a safe option to spray diluted fly spray (formulated for horses) around his hutch/a little on his ears? Or is this too risky? If so, what are some safe fly-repellents to use in close proximity w/ a rabbit? Thank you for any answers!

help me solve this problem please!?

rabbit repellent

you have been growing lettuce in your garden but there are rabbits that keep eating your plants. So you decide to go to the nursery to buy rabbit repellent. The nursery has 4 different types of rabbit repellent. You decide to buy 1 box of each type of repellent to try them all out and see which one works the best. In the experiment you design what will be your independent variable, dependent variable, control variable, experimental group, and control group?!?

What is eating my morning glory leaves and stems and how do I stop it?

rabbit repellent

I planted morning glories outside at about 3 inches tall that had been starting from seed indoors. The plants finally starting taking off after a few weeks, and nothing bothered them, but recently something has starting chewing at all the leaves. The plants were finally starting to twine around the trellis I set up for them, and whatever eating them chewed off all the stems twirled around the bamboo posts! It only happens at night.

The leaves have holes similar to this http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h22/lisa_s00/june232006108.jpg

At first we thought it might be a rabbit, but we put mesh cages around the plants and theyre still being eaten every night, so we concluded it must be insects.

I know we have snails and slugs that hang around the garden, but some of the chewed leaves were far off the ground and I doubt the delicate stems of the plant would be able to support a snail or slug without snapping off the whole plant. There was also no evidence of any kind of trail that snails or slugs leave behind.

So my question is, what they heck could be eating my plants and how do I stop them? What are some natural repellents for whatever insects could be doing this.
Id also like to add that my garden includes a large vegetable garden, so I cant put anything toxic on the plants. Anything I use would have to be a natural remedy.
