My bunny’s litter has small flies that are around in mass quantities. They jump a bit like fleas, but don’t look like any fleas I know; besides, they are attracted to his litter.
What’s strange is they are not attracted to my other bunny’s litter. The one with the flies is a wild rabbit (we rescued him from a dog attack as a baby and the vet said that releasing him would be cruel as he wouldn’t know how to feed himself or borrow for the winter), but the rabbit that doesn’t have the flies is a regular store variety rabbit.
Any ideas? Has anyone else had to deal with this problem? If so, how do I get rid of these pests? I change his litter every day and they are still there. I use bleach (which I rinse out with gallons of water) but they come back: they are here every year.

my rabbit is 5yrs old now and ive never given him anything like it before. he has also started of late, to pull out his fur on his back and back legs. we think he could have fleas or something in this area. i have flea repellent spray for animals and i have been using this but is there anything else i should be doing?
I wanted to know if I can just rub some on their coats to keep away mosquitos and fleas away. There are rabbits that can sometimes carry fleas that go from yard to yard. Please advise. It will also help my pocket. I have 3 dogs. Thanks Ahead
