This is a video I took of my dad setting a rabbit snare, which inspired me to make some vids of my experiences of making, setting, checking rabbit snares. I hope you watch & enjoy them. This is a video of my version of setting a rabbit snare…I was inspired to make this video and other videos, from a video I took of my father setting one last season. Check out my videos “Making a Rabbit Snare” and “Snaring Rabbits – Checking Rabbit Snares” The proof is in the pudding. It works! When searching for an area to snare, if there is no snow, rabbit droppings are a great indicator of the presence of rabbits. The droppings are about the same size and shape of the candy “smarties”, with a grainy texture. You can also secure your snares to available cover if it is next to the area you selected to set the snare, rather than cutting and tieing to a tree limb. Snare Hieght Off Ground: 3 inches (lower limit)… 8 inches (upperlimit) These ranges should cover most sizes of rabbit…Adjust for your individual situation. I hope you watch and enjoy all my vids. Name: Boris Age: Unknown Gender: Male Colour: White, tan and small black patches on back Breed: Unknown When we let Boris in his run (on the lawn) he scratches at the run’s fencing and shaking it, trying to make it tear the fencing away. When we shift the run over a small step, Boris can’t move up the step, despite how small it is. Once he’s climbed into the hutch, he won’t come back down until we carry him. He doesn’t eat carrots, apples or rabbit food, but he eats straw, grass, lettuce and rhubarb treats.
